How I Spent My Christmas Vacation, Part 2

I went to a Christmas Party wearing this outfit: Red knit blouse with black sequin bow (Ulla Popken), black pencil skirt (Target) and black tights (Target).  Loved the top and even though I'm quite busty, it was a little big.  Their sizing is generous.  This top is great for dressing up or down depending on what you wear with it.

This was a Colonial Christmas Dinner at Riley's Farm in Oak Glen.  We all went in Colonial costumes as was requested.  My dress is a pretty print with a dark brown background (when I ordered it I thought it was black) and lace sleeves.  My dress is from Recollections and is actually supposed to be Victorian Prairie style but it was the closest I could get.  The Mob Cap is also from Recollections.  My scarf is actually a lace table topper from Walmart.

My last Christmas event was The Christmas Follies at the Centre Theatre in Fontana.  I'm wearing the Ulla Popken top again.  The Christmas Follies was a variety type show which starred out waiters and waitresses.  We had a delicious dinner which they served.  They they sang and danced for us.  It's a wonderful musical theater production!

This is what I had:  Top is a " Happy Elf" and dinner was Chicken with a yummy sauce, vegetables and potatoes.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Season!

How I Spent My Christmas Vacation

December just flew by since I had the flu at the beginning and the flu at the end.  In between coughing and sneezing I got to do a few fun things.

I'm in a Meetup group called Fun Day Trips and that's what we do:  have fun and go places.  These photos are from "Chill" at the Queen Mary Park in Long Beach.

The Santa and wreath are carved from ice.  The coat is courtesy of the exhibit.  I'm wearing my Target crocheted beret.

Melissa and I are taking a break on the Queen Mary.  Beret, scarf and sweater are from Target.  Jacket is from a Carnival cruise and the jeans are from Avenue.

The weather was cool and the exhibit was cold so everyone got into the Christmas mood.  Christmas in Southern California isn't usually very cool.  It's been know to arrive in 80 degrees and Santa Ana winds.  We were so fortunate to have some rain and cool weather in December!

I'm making this post short since I spent most of the day ironing out some picture uploading problems on my computer.  It was so much easier when I was blogging a few years back...hope it's not me having "senior moments."

Part 2 of Christmas vacation is tomorrow.

Last night we had a girls night out at the Mission Inn in Riverside.  We had about 12 women show up and we were scrambling for seats because at Christmas time the MI gets so crowded with people looking at the decorations and lights and having dinner.  We took some photos with Santa.  Mine is courtesy of Paula since I'm having issues with my camera charger.

Sweater, scarf and skirt from Target.

We went to listen to my friend Skip play guitar, and sax, and sing.

If you're still looking for Christmas or NYE dresses, here are a few more of my favorites.

Avenue again.  I bought this beauty for
$40. on sale in red.  I love the lace, tiers,
and sequins.  I actually bought this for a
                                                 Valentines Day party.

The best Laid Plans...

I started off with great intentions of blogging several times each week but life got in my way.  Very soon after I did my first post, I got the nasty flu that's going around. I'm running about a week and a half behind schedule in all areas of my life.  Yikes, Christmas is only a week and a half away and I still need to get the tree up!

I wanted to start off with some party dresses since Christmas time and New Year's Eve is Party Time!

Red Dresses have to go first because I love red (maybe it's because of my hair) and red is so right for Christmas!

These qualify as elegant for any age.  My goal is show you clothing that is beautiful and wearabe for plus size women who are over forty or fifty or whatever...really the things could be for any age.  I believe that we can be in style and on trend without dressing "too young" or "too old."  It doesn't have to cost a fortune either.  I shop at Avenue, Lane Bryant, Torrid, Target, Dress Barn, Walmart...where ever there are cute things.

Til next time...Hugs,

Susan

A Little Intro...

Hi to all my curvey and elegant friends.

I've been thinking about this blog for quite a while.  So many fashion blogs and fashion magazines are geared toward young women.  I love reading those blogs and magazines like Lucky, Glamour and Instyle but I'm not in my twenties or thirties and I still love fashion.  I still want to have pretty clothes, hair and make-up.  I'm a woman with curves who doesn't have a teenager's body but that doesn't mean I can't be a fashionista.

Some personal things about me:  I'm a redhead...made a little more that way with some help.  I'm on the shorter side (5 feet and 3 inches) and the rounder side.  I'm kind of straight up and down with a
big bust, not much booty but a little tummy I try to hide.  We all have things we like and don't like about our physical selves but that will not stop us from looking good!

I feel like I lead a pretty active and exciting life.  I have lots of friends, go to a lot of fun events and travel for fun several times each year.  I'm not rich but I'm learning how to live a rich and full life.  I'll let you in on some of the tricks and hints I've used to make life more interesting.  Nothing I do is illegal or dangerous, so I hope you'll join me as I blog along.

I'm adding another photo here so you can get idea of what I look like ( I'm on the right).
